2025-26 Demo Reel

Hi! I'm Valerie Guerrero, or commonly known online as "Vienn". I am a Mexican-American 2D animator and visual development artist based in Chicago. From time to time, I also partake in creative writing and narrative illustration.

My professional work at the moment has focused on freelance digital illustrative client work. I aim with my personal work to hone my character-focused, animated skills through short films. I am inspired by Baroque-style paintings, the sci-fi/fantasy genre blend, and my own Mexican heritage. I enjoy the usage of saturated colors and stylized shape language that stem from Western and Eastern animation approaches.

I hope to use my art as a gateway to learn about the cultures around the world, and to share that knowledge with my audiences through my storytelling in a fantastical, narrative way.
I recently just finished a 4 minute, animated short film for my graduation thesis project that I will soon be circulating around film festivals. While that makes its rounds, I will be taking a short break from animation to focus on content creation and keep continuing a new character design project, in which I’ve combined the zombie apocalypse genre with the space genre.
